Action Comics #25 is the first issue by the new creative team of writer Greg Pak and artist Aaron Kuder. In Pak and Kuder’s first issue, Clark Kent is getting accustomed to his life as both Superman and as a writer of the newspaper, The Daily Star. Clark Kent’s friend, Lana Lang, is adapting to her job as an electrical engineer.

In Metropolis, Superman battles and defeats the Supremacists. It is always unique to see the inexperienced Superman wear a t-shirt and jeans as his attire. While watching the news, Clark finds out that a hurricane is going to effect Gotham City. Superman tries to stop the hurricane while Lana is on a boat in Gotham in the middle of the storm. Superman is not able to stop the hurricane and learns from the experience. Even though they are full of hope, Superman and Lana learn that they each have their limits. Due to their individual acts of heroism, Superman and Lana are able to prevent the hurricane from causing any further damage to Gotham.

Pak and Kuder’s first issue of Action Comics is a success and a refreshing change in a Superman comic with a young Clark Kent being featured along with Lana Lang.

Action Comics #25 by Greg Pak and Aaron Kuder is available now.

In Captain America #13, Captain America continues to struggle with the losses of Ian, the boy he raised in Dimension Z, and Sharon Carter. However, Frank Simpson, who is known as Nuke, is threatening Nrosvekistan. Sam Wilson, known as the Falcon, does not understand the alliance that has developed between his friend, Steve Rogers and Jet Black. Jet is the daughter of Arnim Zola, one of Captain America’s greatest villains. Sam does not trust Jet and has difficulty comprehending the influence Jet had on the decision Steve made to burn many of the items in Captain America #11 that Steve held onto for decades. Jet tells Sam that perhaps he is not the person who knows Steve best anymore due to the time Steve spent in Dimension Z and escaped with Jet back to Earth.

Maria Hill tells Sam that Steve is needed because of the danger Nrosvekistan is in due to Nuke. Sam does not believe Steve is ready to go back to battle. However, while Nuke is terrorizing the citizens of Nrosvekistan, Captain American and the Falcon arrive to fight Nuke. The issue concludes with Captain America and the Falcon attempting to defeat Nuke, which will continue in Captain America #14.

One of the most interesting developments in the new story arc of the Captain America title is Jet Black adjusting to new home on Earth in New York. It will be intriguing for comic book readers of the Captain America title to find out the role Jet will have in future issues.

Captain America #13 by Rick Remender and Nic Klein is available now.
